Petrol, diesel stock in healthy state

In spite of the ongoing indefinite general strike and blockade on National Highways over the issue of upgrading Sadar Hills to a full fledged district, petrol and diesel stocks are no cause of any concern for the public as yet.
According to information received from IOC Imphal State Level Co-ordinator SL Sida, there is no need for the public to harbour undue fear of petrol/diesel shortage in the coming days.
"There is no reason for the public to engage in panic buying", he said.
At present, the IOC depot located at Chingmeirong has full stocks of petrol and diesel.
In addition, there are many standing TTs.
The depot has 1045 Kl of petrol and 3222 Kl of diesel.
Above these, there are 303 Kl of petrol in standing TTs and 725 Kl of diesel in standing TTs.
There are 2460 Kl and 328 Kl of SK Oil in depot and standing TTs respectively.
As for LPG, the bottling plant at Sekmai has 400 MT in stock at present.
The Chingmeirong depot has 411 Kl of ATF.
The present stock positions would last 19 days for petrol and diesel, 34 days for SK Oil, eight days for LPG and 25 days for ATF.
The daily necessity for the State is 15 Kl of petrol, 200 Kl of diesel, 80 Kl of SK Oil, 50 MT of LPG and 16.3 Kl of ATF.
NRL TTs would be loaded at Tinsukia on August 6 and they may be given CRPF escort on August 8 .
Meanwhile, the Government of Nagaland's restriction on movement of vehicles heavier than 10 MT following landslides between Dimapur and Kohima has also been lifted.
In Assam, LPG carriers are being escorted by Assam Police in Karbi Anglong district, added the official.
On the other hand, SDSRM Imphal DO along with Bhupenchandra Ghosh, president of the All Manipur Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union and Dy Mgr (RS) Imphal M Gaithaochung and AM (RS) T Dharmavir visited today the driver who was injured in stone pelting at Kanglatongbi on August 3 .
The condition of the driver was stable and he was given monetary help by the SDRSAM which was contributed by officers and staff of Imphal Divisional Office.
