Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam espoues peace, co-existence

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has appealed to every section of the society to stand united against external forces which are trying to create misunderstading among various commnuities living together in the State.
Gaikhangam was speaking as chief guest of the Golden Jubilee celebration of Pantilong village, Mantripukri.
The golden jubilee celebration of Pantilong village was attended by the Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam as chief guest, Deputy Speaker MK Preshow, Chairman Hills Areas Committee Z Kikhonbou Newmai, Tamenglong MLA Janghemlung Panmei, Commissioner GAD Norbert Disinang and SP Imphal East Kamei Angam Romanus as the guests of honour.
Gaikhangam stated that Pantilong village was first settled by just five/ six families some 50 years back.
Now the village has 66 houses with a total population of 309 .
Though the village is small, it is making rapid progress in terms of education.
People of Pantilong village have been living in the area peacefully because of the support of the other neighbouring villages.

care and protection of the neighbouring villages.
they (Pantilong) would not able to settle in the area peacefully, he asserted.
"Manipur is settled by various communities with different relegions but we must not forget that we are all Manipuris and need to stand united as one against external forces which are scheming to destroy the peaceful co-existence, and need to be wary of such forces", averred the Deputy Chief Minister.
He also appealed all to sections of the society to join together for the welfare and development of ths State.
Living together as one is the best way for bringing peace and harmony in the State.
Giving a brife note of Pantilong village, K Dimthaorei advisor Village Authority said that the golden jubilee celebration is being observed on the theme 'Approaching a specific age" .
He said that the village was first settled by three pioneers in the year 1961 and named the village in Rongmei Dailect as Pantilong village.
At present there are 66 houses in the village with a total population of 309 .
