Imphal, April 01 2011:
House of a youth suspected to be involved in the abduction of 13 year old school student was destroyed by the villagers of Wangkhem under Yairipok police station in Thoubal district.
The infuriated villagers attacked and vandalised the house of Huidrom Ajit (24) s/o Kesho of Wangkhem Huidrom Leikai at about 10 this morning.
Ajit reportedly abducted Huidrom Johnson (13) s/o Noren of his own locality last morning.
Johnson was going for private tuition near his home when two out of five unidentified persons who were waiting in a Maruti van jumped down and abducted Johnson on gun point.
However, Johnson, somehow, managed to escape from the hands of his abductors.
The local people of Wangkhem had a suspicion that Ajit was involved in the abortive abduction attempt.
Their suspicion increased all the more when they found Johnson away from home.
A few minutes later, a large crowd assembled at the locality and they vandalised the house of Ajit.
There was also a case a few years back when Ajit abducted Johnson's brother, Kishan (20) and handed him over to a UG group.
Another source informed that Ajit has taken refuge at 15 Assam Rifles.
