State logs 432 new cases, eight deaths

Imphal, July 05 2021:
The state on Monday reported eight death cases, 609 recoveries and 432 new positive cases of Covid-19.Despite the low number of new cases, the positivity rate still remains high at 13.48 per cent as the number of test conducted was only 3204 in the last 24 hours.
The active caseload on Monday dipped to 5974 out of which 2197 are in home isolation and 1955 in CHICs.
A total of 802 patients were admitted to different hospitals as of Sunday night and 279 of them are on oxygen support and 56 on ventilator support including 10 on NIVs.
CCCs have 1020 patients admitted with 101 on oxygen support.
According to official reports, all the 432 new cases (213 males & 219 females) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (11), JNIMS (54), District Hospitals (215) and other testing centres (152) .

The positive cases are from Imphal East (118), Imphal West (73), Thoubal (44), Bishnupur (78), Kakching (31), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (14), Chandel (24), Senapati (10), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (4) and Kangpokpi (21).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 8 Covid-19 deaths (6 male & 2 female) in the last 24 hours.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (4), Imphal East (1), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (1) and Senapati (1) .
Four patients died at RIMS, two at Shija Hospitals, and one each at JNIMS and DH Ukhrul.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1204 .
One of the victims was in his late 20s and another in his early 30s .
Two patients died within 24 hours of arrival at the hospital and another within 72 hours.
Four of the victims did not have any co-morbid conditions.
The 609 patients discharged in the last 24 hours were from home isolation (340), RIMS (6), JNIMS (10), CCCs (102) and CHICs (151) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 72,718 (general population - 68,858 and CAPF personnel - 3,860) .
Number of recovered cases is 65,540 (general population - 61,754 and CAPF personnel - 3,786) and number of active cases is 5,974 (general population - 5,905 and CAPF personnel - 69) .
The recovery rate is 90.12 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1470 D-type and 378 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District hospitals and government institutions have 486D and 97B type filled cylinders and stock distributions made in the last 24 hours were Bishnupur (121D,8B), Chandel (33D,7B), Churachandpur (87D,0B), Senapati (45D,0B), Thoubal (72D,31B), Ukhrul (22D,18B), Tamenglong (20D,0B), Jiribam (48D,13B), Moreh (12D,5B), Kamjong (3D,2B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kakching (12D,11B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney (2D,0B) and CCCs (341D, 121B).Only 9570 individuals were vaccinated on Sunday and the cumulative number of vaccinated people has reached 6,52,691 out of which 85,940 individuals have received both doses of the vaccine.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (25,374), Imphal East (16,125), Thoubal (6133), Churachandpur (5875), Kangpokpi (1826), Tamenglong (2157), Bishnupur (4722), Senapati (1417), Ukhrul (1499), Kakching (3653), Chandel (1226), Noney (577), Tengnoupal (789), Jiribam (759), Kamjong (452) and Pherzawl (134).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (427), Imphal East (311), Thoubal (113), Churachandpur (99), Kangpokpi (30), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (88), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (16), Kakching (69), Chandel (18), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (6), Jiribam (4), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
The state health authority is not willing to provide district-specific case status despite repeated request from media.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 23,435 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,960 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,97,532 tests per million population against the national average of 3,01,209 TPM.
Case fatality rate remains at 1.66 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 3204 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 13.48 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.88 per cent.
