With the spirits and enthusiasm of people around Kangpokpi and Saikul, the powerhouse of football in Sadar Hills intensely growing high, Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai and Kangpokpi Youth Union today urged the Deputy General Manager (Power), Kangpokpi Sub-Division to ensure regular power supply during the FIFA World Cup.
Thangkam Lupheng, President Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai appealed the State Power Department and the DGM (Power), Kangpokpi Sub-Division in particular to put everything which directly or indirectly related to constant power supply during competition in order to enable the youngsters particularly the football lovers and the general public watch live telecast of the world cup without power interruption.
Not only football lovers are all set to watch the mega event but all the people in the area young and old, men and women, boys and girls and even jhum going individuals to office going persons are ready to enjoy the competition added KISG Chief while adding that it will be wise on the part of the Power Department not to disrupt the spirits of the people.
Saikul being the hosted of a noted football club in the State FC Khanglai, there are various youngsters who would like to make their career in the field of football from this interior area and FIFA World Cup is the largest opportunity such youngsters to have watch world class football players and learn new skills and tactics from them asserted KISG President adding that constant power supply is the need of the people during the competition.
In the meantime, Kangpokpi Youth Union earnestly appealed the Deputy General Manager (Power) in particular and the State Power Department for regular supply of power in the town to ensure the largest and biggest competition in the world is watched and enjoy live by the people.
Hechon Singson, President Kangpokpi Youth Union said that our appeals to the authority concerned has become necessary to enable the general public particularly youngsters of Kangpokpi and its adjoining areas to enjoy the live telecast of the most lucrative sporting event.
"We have been experiencing epileptic power supply in the town occasionally, we appeals the concern authority to help us with electricity to enjoy and watch the Brazil FIFA World Cup schedule to begin from tonight", Singson said.
Football players and lovers, fans who are all set to cheer their respective favourite countries do not want to miss a single match of the tournament, said Lynd Kipgen, General Secretary Kangpokpi Youth Union.
While urging the Power Department to desist from frequent power fluctuation during the match Lynd Kipgen said that all matches are equally important particularly for the young football player since there will be a lot they can learn from every match played in the tournament.
