Red Shield to hold seminar on May 13

A seminar on 'Changing Contours of Manipur and Way Ahead' will be organized by the Red Shield Division on May 13 at Leimakhong.
The seminar is being patronised by 3 Corps GOC Lt Gen AK Sahni.
The seminar will be attended by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam.
A press release issued by PIB (DW) said that it is a common knowledge that, with a blend of both natural and physical resources coupled with its diverse ethnicity and location bordering with Myanmar, Manipur is poised to be the gateway to South East Asia.
Manipur has always been a shinning outpost of the country in the sparse of the eastern Himalayas.
In spite of persistent turmoil, of late, there seems to be increasing yearning for peace and development amongst the masses, the press release added.
It further said that there is a gradual but definite shift occurring within the society led by abundant possibilities and opportunities at economic progress and prosperity.
In consonance with this changing outlook, this seminar shall broadly endeavour to address the complex web of enduring impediments to development and peace in Manipur, identify emerging opportunities as economic growth and discuss the role of youth, women, civil society, media and security forces as indispensable stake holders in the peace process, the press release added.
By active participation from eminent Professors and personalities from diverse walks of life, who are experts in the subject, the seminar shall focus to analyse the changing contours of Manipur and explore the prospects of managing these in a manner that shall usher in enduring peace and inclusive economic growth of Manipur, the press release said.
