ICM celebrates Silver Jubilee

With completion of 25 years of its existence, Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM) today celebrated its Silver Jubilee along with an impressive function at its complex located at Lamphelpat today with Moirangthem Okendro, Minister for Education, CAF & PD, as Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister M Okendro stated that ICM has provided around 1589 different type of training programmes to over 44,634 students from different parts of the country.
The institute has been playing a big role in the development of cooperative movement and the movement needs to go on smoothly.
For this, the Education Department would lend all possible help.
The cooperative movement should strengthen the relationship among the NE States.
The Minister pointed out that today ICM has got permanent affiliation to Manipur University.
As such, all possible funding from UGC and other funding agencies should be taken to develop the institute in all respects.
Delivering the Presidential speech, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai stated that the institute has being taking up various training, research and consultative programmes as a part of the cooperative movement and it is quite hopeful that the upcoming generation would be benefitted from these activities.
Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar was also present on the occasion as Guest of Honour.
Ajitkumar Puniya, Managing Director of National Backward Classes Finance and Development, New Delhi; Dr Surinder, Senior Advisor of Planning Commission, Government of India; Dr Dinesh, National Council for Cooperative Training, New Delhi and H Nandakumar Sharma, VC of Manipur University were among other dignitaries who were present on the dais.
