Imphal, September 05, 2010:
Referring to the incident of assault on Mapao Khullen villagers by their cadres, the KCP-MC has clarified that the villagers were chastised for providing information to security forces about the outfit's hideout.
A press release issued by the outfit's publicity officer Washington Meitei said that leaders of Mapao Khullen village were instrumental in the dead of its two cadres in addition to loss of large number of arms and ammunition in the hands of security forces during Christmas last year.
It was regrettable that the Mapao Khullen leaders chose to stand against the outfit rather than confessing their faults and correct themselves.
Reacting to the statements made by the UCM, AMCO and MBC in media with regard to the Mapao Khullen incident, the KCP-MC asked these bodies not to make one-sided judgements or add communal colour to the incident.
The outfit always viewed the Mapao Khullen villagers in high esteem and it never ever touched any property of the villagers.
The outfit further appealed to all indigenous people of the land not to harbour any thought of taking sides with security forces or feed information about revolutionary groups/cadres who are their own blood brothers.
