A 14 year old student of Hundred Flowers Higher Secondary School who has been missing since August 19 has been located at Ukhrul.
Md Rohit alias Lemba of Mayang Imphal but staying at Hatta went missing from the school campus.
A team of Heingang Police found the boy at Khabeisoi this afternoon.
Md Rohit was later handed over to his parents at Imphal East District Police Headquarters.
A senior police officer said that Rohit might have gone to Ukhrul to hide from the school authority or his own parents because of some incidents.
Talking to reporters, Rohit said that he went to Ukhrul on a bus from Khuman Lampak on August 19. Inside the bus, he came across one Md Amir Khan (23) s/o Maniruddin of Lilong Turel Ahanbi.
Amir Khan together with seven other people were travelling in the same bus to work at Ukhrul.
As Amir Khan and Rohit interacted inside the bus, the boy lied that he had no one to look after him.
At this, Amir Khan proposed Rohit to work together with them.
They worked at the 23 AR post of Sangshak.
On the way to Imphal from Ukhrul today, Rohit and Amir Khan went to a house of Rohit's friend at Khabeisoi.
On seeing Rohit, the local people identified him as the missing student.
Soon they informed Heingang Police who picked up the boy promptly.
Rohit further revealed that he teased a girl classmate on August 18 who complained to the school authority.
On the next day, he was reprimanded by the school authority.
Notably, a joint action committee was constituted and preparations were made to call bandh in connection with the missing of Rohit.
