The Sub- Divisional Officer of Tousem, Dinganglung and his family visited the Zeme girls rescued from Bangalore.
Five young girls out of nine were brought back from Bangalore recently and rehabilitated in the Immanuel Public School.
The officer assured them all necessary help and promised to construct a toilet for the school.
In the meantime, people of Tamenglong are experiencing an acute shortage of electricity in the district causing great inconvenience.
Electric supply went off since 23rd August and has remained so till today.
A reliable source disclosed that a SO (elect) left Imphal on Friday to inspect the default.
Department personnel at the district HQs have no answer for the prolonged power cut off.
It is worth mentioning that Executive Engineer (elect) L Dinesh Kr Singh reputed to never attending office had served notice that electric supply on 33/11 kv would be shut down upto 28 August for erection and stringing of the132 kv power sub- station at Rengpeng.
Eye witnesses say that a live electric wire is dangling on the road side of NH 35 at Sibilong.
Due to the power cut life in Tamenglong has to undergo great inconveniences.
