Like elsewhere in India people in Tamenglong celebrated Dr.S Radha Krishnan's birth day as Teacher's Day and some institutions in Tamenglong District are likely to celebrate Teacher's Day tomorrow.
As Dr Radha Krishnan's birth day, 5th September falls on a Sunday this year many schools and institutions had preponed the celebration by a day.
Other schools and Sunday Schools of different churches celebrated Teachers' Day witzh extravaganza on Sunday.
The 11 Battalion of Assam Rifles under Red Shield Division today joined the Teachers' Day at Immanuel Theological Seminary, ITS and Immanuel Public School, IPS at Chiuluan Christian Centre where the 11 AR sponsored the programme.
The 11 AR also gave away exciting gifts to both the institutions.

Adui Zeme, General Secretary Zeliangrong Baptist Churches Council, ZBCC and Philemon, Vice Principal IPS spoke on the occasion and encouraged the teachers as well as the young students.
A gift for all the teachers was handed over to the teachers through Maj Tripathi 2 ic 11 AR.
The army officer assured the public gathering that the army is behind them to help in any matter.
Nh Adui Zeme, General Secretary Zeliangrong Baptist Churches Council acknowledged 11 AR help to both the schools.
He said the 11 AR had given two sintex tanks, 15 benches and desks, solar lamps, and also promised to level the play ground besides sponsoring the Teachers' Day here today, he said.
