Imphal, September 05, 2010:
A total of 248 freight trucks arrived Imphal on the NH-39 with security escorts on the 11th day of the extended 25-day economic blockade imposed by UNC along the national highways passing through the state.
Out of the 248 freight trucks reached Imphal today afternoon, it includes 15 oil tankers and five bullet tankers (bulk LPG tankers).
Others 212 were loaded with grocery and other items.
Any untoward incidents occurred on the way while heading with escort, police said.
On other hand, a total of 133 empty trucks including 17 oil tankers and seven bullet tanker crossed Mao gate for Dimapur and other destinations for transporting goods from outside the state.
Yesterday also a total of 214 loaded trucks including 25 oil tankers and 13 bullet tankers arrived at Imphal with security escorts provided by the CRPF personnel on the same NH-39. Meanwhile, even as 659 loaded trucks have left Jiribam for Imphal on the NH-53, any of the vehicle arrive Imphal till today.
They freight trucks left with security escorts yesterday.
Among others, the freight trucks includes 57 loaded FCI rice 18 LPG laden, 14 fertilizers, another report from the police said.
