Imphal, January 21 2022:
In a bid to ensure that the ongoing academic campaign of Manipuri Students Federation (MSF)'s 'Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamsi' is carried out efficiently, an orientation programme was held today at Langthabal Kunja Mayai Leikai Junior School.
The programme was organised by MSF and it was presided by Khangembam Bidyasagar, president of MSF, said a press release by MSF.
The orientation programme was attended by the teachers, students and their parents, elders of the locality and executives of MSF and K Bidyasagar distributed notebooks, pens, pencils etc to the students.
The student's body maintained that the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted society considerably in every field.
In regards to the educational sector, MSF stated that the modern education system is not effective in the State where majority of the students belong to poor households.
Though the Government has allowed the conduct of physical classes from Class 9 and above, the rate of attendance is quite low owing to the ongoing pandemic and low rate of vaccination among the students.
Expressing concern over the disparity in the functioning of private and Government schools especially in the conduct of classes, MSF appealed to the Government to ramp up measures to ensure that the new academic session is not delayed.
MSF also sought the attention of the Education Department to work out an alternative mechanism so that the examinations are conducted in Government schools.
