Stage set for Phynyx concert at Yaiskul

Soulmate, a band from Shillong and all set to perform along with the Phynyx, a band from Manipur at YAC ground at Yaiskul in Imphal tomorrow at around 6 in the evening.
Talking to the media persons today, Rudy Wahlang, Soulmate's lead guitarist said that wrong perception of the music lovers as addicts is false and unfounded.
He also dwelt on the band's reputation as original musician by saying that the it has around 20 songs to be performed tomorrow which mainly feature songs composed by the band.
It can be noted here that in a move to create awareness in controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS in Manipur, bands such as Phynyx (Imphal), Soulmate (Shillong) and Viegas (Mumbai) have initiated this programme on the theme, "For the love of music and life, avoid drugs and unprotected sex" .
River Boat will be the event management team of the programme.
Len Gangte, vocalist of the band Phynyx had already stated that the vision of the event is to spread awareness of HIV/AIDS among the youth through the medium of music and to promote the message of prevention as it is one of its kind to halt the spread of HIV/AIDS and added that MACS during the concert will also organise an awareness programme where eminent resource persons from the society will speak on the subject matter.
Keeping high views on the show, Gangte had exuded confidence that the event would serve to create a safe social environment for children and to youth providing them with support to break harmful habits and develop a responsible attitude towards their decisions and actions and inculcate a spirit of a healthy lifestyle.
"Musical traditions have the power to spread not only the needed information but also influence social behavior and it also presents an inspiring analysis of hope and healing.
Manipur, by virtue of its geographical and political position at the tri-junction of drugs, HIV/AIDS and conflict, is in a vulnerable situation.
It calls for a great awakening especially the youth.
Music, perhaps is the best medium to heal ", said, Len Gangte.
