Imphal, August 25 2014:
The Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (Anal Students' Union) HQs Chandel tour program which started on August 3 under the theme "Education, Health and Environment" covered villages under western Valley in Chandel District.
The Union interacted with village chiefs and authority; club leaders and visited Primary Cealth Sub-Centre at Unopat village and Veterinary Aided Centre at Tokpaching village.
According to a statement issued by the Union, the PHSC which serves more than 20 villages needs an immediate aid.
With no first aid facility, absence of pharmacist, doctors and even chowkidar, villagers are compelled to take first aid treatment in CHC Sugnu.
Two nurses posted at the PHSC are available only once or twice in a month.
The Union stated that the issue must be heeded by the department concerned and ease the day to day hardship faced by the villagers.
The statement also added that Veterinary Aided Centre in Tokpaching village is in pathetic condition with office building almost on the verge of collapse.
The Union apprised the authority concerned to employ a field assistant, a chowkidar and attendants along with due provision of medicines and equipment at the centre at the earliest.
The Union endorsing the complaint of some primary schools in Western valley asserted that Mid-Day Meal Schemes must be implemented effectively and salary of the employed cooks must be paid regularly.
