Kidnapped driver, handyman set free

Imphal, August 25 2014:
The driver along with the handyman of a truck who were kidnapped by cadres of NSCN (K) in connection with monetary demand from 7 Mile Zebra Parking near Kohima on August 13 have been reportedly released near Kohima at around 2 pm today.
However, both of them have not yet reached Imphal till the time of filing this report.
The truck loaded with FCI rice was heading towards Imphal from Dimapur when they were kidnapped by the armed cadres at gun point from the area.
The driver has been identified as Gautam Gopal (28) s/o Ramkumar Gautham of Kanglatongbi and the handyman as Nawang Newme (23) of Tendaram village, Tamenglong district.
Meanwhile, protests of the JAC Against the Kidnapping of Ramkumar Gautham and Nawang continued.
