ZYF's North East tour concludes

The eight-day long NE tour of the Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) which was flagged off from Haipou Jadonang Memorial Park on Jan 27 ended successfully.
The tour which covered neighbouring States like Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam and Nagaland, was organised with an aim to interact with Zeliangrong people who live in different places of the NE States and to strengthen the bond of brotherhood and love among the people who are separated by different geographical boundaries.
According to a ZYF statement, the team was delighted to see many people from Zeliangrong community settling in peace at the heart of Aizawl in Mizoram.
They enjoy every benefit under the Mizoram Govt without any discrimination especially in employment sector which manifests the broad-mindedness of the Mizoram Govt.The tour team also visited a Zeliangrong neighbourhood called 'Milong Veng' which is now changed to 'Sharon Veng.' The delegates interacted with the local elders at Aizawl and other places the team visited.
In Meghalaya, the ZYF team had interaction with civil society organisations leaders of Ribhoi district where the Zeliangrong people are largely concentrated.
They also met leaders and members of Zeliangrong Christian Fellowship, Shillong.
The tour team also visited Ward's Lake, Barapani, Cherapunji, etc besides visiting Zeliangrong people living in the Meghalaya-Assam border area.
Apart from touring landmark and historical places in Assam, the team also visited the ongoing construction site of Rani Gaidinliu Memorial Museum cum Library at Kohima.
ZYF tour team comprising representatives from different zones was flagged off by Dy CM Gaikhangam.
It also expressed thankfulness to all concerned who extended cooperation towards the success of the tour.
