26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) has reviewed the security and frisking arrangements at the check posts of Khudengthabi and Tengnoupal.
The review of security checks and arrangements came up with a few remarkable improvements which would be incorporated in the near future, like while carrying out checking and frisking Assam Rifles troops would be more courteous and polite, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
A token system would be introduced for commercial and passenger vehicles with increased strength of troops and women police personnel with an aim to reduce 'waiting period' of vehicles and passengers.
In this regard, there is a proposal to install a vehicle X-ray machine and CCTV cameras to strengthen the security arrangements, added the press release.
To mitigate the hardships of people at these check posts, some people friendly projects are being undertaken like provision of deputing a doctor at the Khudengthabi check post 24/7 .
To start with these noble ideas, '10 Mile Caf�' was inaugurated by DGAR.
DIG Brig Rajiv Chhibber invited the locals who are interested to run this cafeteria in order to generate some self employment and promote better cordial relations between Assam Rifles and people.
Multiple teams along with Manipur police personal including women police have been deployed at this post, the press release said and added that priority is being given to any emergency cases.
X-ray machine has already been commissioned to provide speedy checks.
CCTV cameras and heavy duty scanners are in the process of being commissioned for improving the overall security set-up.
The integrated facility was inaugurated by Lieutenant General RK Rana DGAR in the presence of more than 100 villagers.
On the specific request of locals a medical officer has been deputed to provide medical assistance, added the press release.
