UKRA to monitor schools

In its endeavour to usher in quality education, the United Komrem Revolutionary Army (KNO/UKRA) has announced to monitor schools at Komrem villages across the State with the onset of a new academic session.
As per the KNO/UKRA cabinet meeting resolution, the outfit would closely monitor the functioning of various schools at Komrem villages.
Schools without students, schools without teachers, schools lacking proper infrastructure and engaging substitute teachers are the key areas where the outfit will closely monitor, according to a statement issued by information and publicity secretary of KNO/UKRA, SBB Kom.
The outfit also assigned JK Kom, member, JMG, KNO/UKRA to look after 23 schools in Ccpur district and K Rongsothang, SDO and N Ngultinthang, SDC to look after 15 schools at Komrem villages in Sadar Hills, the statement said.
It urged heads of the schools concerned to inform their staff to maintain regularity from the new academic session.
The outfit further sought the cooperation of chiefs, villagers and youth leaders of Komrem villages towards this end.
Informing that a surprise visit to the schools would be conducted from March this year, the outfit further warned of initiating fitting action against any teachers or staff found violating established rules and regulations.
