Jiribam (Imphal East), February 07 2015 :
After a long pending vacant post of the Block Development Officer of Jiribam, CD Block, a BDO was newly posted recently.
However due to his frequent absence, the 6 Gram Panchayats' Pradhans and its members have been facing many difficulties, reports Jiri News Network.
According to a statement of the press statement of P Mani Singh, Chairman, All Jiribam Panchayat Parishad, Jiribam, the BDO of Jiribam, CD Block has been on frequent leave.
Therefore, the NREGS card holders of the 6 Gram Panchayats have not been getting their wages on time.
Admission for new academic session is underway.
With the absence of the BDO, birth certificates could not be provided to the students, said P Mani Singh.
"The Jiribam CD Block is also located far away from the district head quarters and that has made the implementation of the State Government's developmental policies and programmes more far-reaching.
Considering the factor, the BDO should be regularly available in his office in order to assure that such difficulties faced by the people are addressed.
We would like to appeal to the authority concerned to look into the matter and resolve the grievances of the people" .
