Imphal, November 02 2011:
All Manipur Students Guardians' Organisation (AMSGO), Manipur has warned the Principal of DM College of Science that the organisation will boycott him if the Principal fails to fill up the vacant seats in the college within a week.
Speaking to reporters in a press conference, AMSGO Advisor N Tomba said, 581 students admitted in the first semester of the premier institute earlier this year through an entrance test taken part by around 2000 candidates.
Later, the Principal gave permission for admission to 149 students without making any formal public announcement, he added.
Out of these total 730 students, 70 students have migrated to other institutes outside the State after surrendering their respective admission slips/receipts, Tomba added.
He further said, now the Principal has refused to fill up these vacant seats by giving permission to the intending candidates.
Tomba added the Principal has refused to do so even though the matter has been permitted by the State Government and Manipur University.
Criticising the conduct of the Principal, N Tomba said that the Principal is seemingly not concerned about the career of the students.
So the organisation has decided to boycott the Principal and would not be allowed to enter the college if he fails to give permission for admission, N Tomba added.
