3 KCP-MTF men held

Three KCP-MTF men reportedly involved in repeated bomb attacks at the residence of a Cabinet Minister have been apprehended along with two IEDs by Bishnupur Police in the course of search operations conducted before arrival of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram here.
Speaking to media persons at Bishnupur District Police Headquarters this afternoon, SP Th Radheshyam said that district police, particularly commandos, acting on reports about possible attack on non-local people ahead of the Home Minister's visit, have been conducting search operations in different places for the last couple of days.
In the course of one such search operation at Leimapokpam Awang Leikai under Nambol police station, three KCP-MTF cadres were pulled from their respective homes at about 4.30 pm yesterday.
The SP identified the apprehended cadres as Oinam Sobhachandra alias Ibungcha alias Guli (35), Oinam Maimu (29) and Oinam Radhabinod alias Radha (28) .
All of them belong to Leimapokpam Awang Leikai.
Sobhachandra was earlier arrested by district police for his involvement in a gun running, Radheshyam said.
On preliminary interrogation, they disclosed that they were cadres of KCP-MTF and were working under one Sarat alias Somo (37) of Sagoltongba Awang Leikai.
Acting on their disclosure, two IEDs fitted inside GI pipes have been recovered from a banana thicket growing inside the residential plot of Sobhachandra.
They further disclosed that it was themselves who planted and triggered IED blasts at the residential gate of Social Welfare and Veterinary Minister Nameirakpam Loken on October 18 and 30, conveyed the SP .
Notably, out of two bomb planted at the residential gate of Minister Loken in the night of October 18, one exploded there while the other was retrieved by police.
