Imphal, November 02 2011:
Taking strong exception to the recent trend of bomb attacks, a protest demonstration was staged today at Kakwa Bazar under the aegis of the Conflict Widows' Forum.
The protest demonstration was participated by family members of bomb blast victims and young women who have been widowed after their husbands were shot dead without conducting any sort of trial.
The protesters put up placards which read as "Save democracy and protect human rights", "We demand attention of international communities to save Manipur", "Who are the next victims", "Immediately stop crime against humanity by State and non-State actors", etc.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the protest demonstration, convenor of the Conflict Widows' Forum Laishram Ranjita decried that the Government has been unable to punish culprits in spite of the multiple number of bomb attacks.
Questioning the perception of the Union Home Minister about the multiple bomb attacks which have killed many innocent people besides maiming many other people for life, Ranjita asserted that the situation demands establishment of a special court to investigate into every case of bomb blast.
She further investigated thorough investigation into bomb blast cases at Sangakpham on August 1, Kyamgei on September 14, North AOC on September 15, Alu Gali and Canchipur on October 26 and at Wangkhei on October 30 where many people were killed and hurt.
The protest demonstration was also participated by Ramshingla, mother of Philaso who was killed in the Sangakpham bomb blast.
