Imphal, September 02 2016:
A woman who was allegedly involved in collecting money and documents with the false promise of admitting three students in educational institutions has been pulled up by volunteers of MSF.
Speaking to media persons at their Keishamthong Top Leirak office today, MSF vice-president Khundrakpam Max said that Ningombam Rajen (48) of Sugnu Khongyam Awang leikai but presently staying in a rented house at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai and his wife Ningombam (O) Thoibi (48) duped three students.
After convincing that they would secure admission in Class XI in Ibotonsana Girls Higher Secondary School, Uripok, the couple collected Rs 12,000 and necessary documents from three students belonging to a village of Bishnupur district, Max said.
As informed by the couple, the girls even attended classes at the school even though their names were mentioned during the roll-call.
But on enquiry for registration at th Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM), it was learnt that none of the girls were never admitted in the school.
On discovering the bitter truth, one of the girl collapsed and she was rushed to hospital, Max said.
After parents of the girls lodged a complaint, MSF volunteers pulled up Thoibi today.
All the documents collected by the couple from the students have been recovered and Thoibi has been asked to re-pay the money they collected to the girls.
Meanwhile, MSF has initiated due measures to let the three students study at Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School, Max said.
He added that a complaint would be lodged with the Government authorities so that due legal action is initiated against the fraudulent couple.
