Manipur Gorkha youth 'murdered'

In yet another alleged shocking incident, a Gorkha youth from Manipur and working as Customer Service Representative at Ambience Mall, Gurgoan was 'murdered' at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
The deceased identified as Nawaraj Thapa (31) s/o (L) Tek Bahadur Thapa, ex-chowkidar of Inspection Bungalow, Kangpokpi was allegedly murdered by unknown miscreants while he was on his way to the National capital from Manipur after attending Durga Puja on October 16.His body was recovered reportedly by Bareilly police on October 17 .
Nawaraj Thapa family who originally hailed from Khakre, Irang Part-II under Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency resided at Kangpokpi Ward No 11 near the Inspection Bungalow for the past more than two decades.
He left for Delhi in 2006 and worked as CSR at Ambience Mall, Gurgoan while looking after his mother and 5 siblings.
Speaking to mediapersons at her Kangpokpi residence, a physically weak Jhulu Thapa, mother of the deceased narrated that Nawaraj came to Manipur on September 22 to attend Puja and went back on October 14 while adding that he kept in touch with the family members from the train till he reached Bihar from Dimapur.
"On October 16 morning at around 11.30 he called me talking in a very strange tone, saying that some goondas numbering about five had taken him under their custody and said this might be my last call as they will definitely kill me," said the bereaved mother.
"I asked my son to let me speak with them and he gave his phone to one of them who blatantly told me, Delhi bhejna hai ya upar humlok socche ga and disconnected the phone while I requested him to release my son safe and sound," the weeping mother said.
The next day at about 12 noon the family received a call from Bareilly police station (via number 08755296196) and was informed that Nawaraj was found dead on a railway track.
Meanwhile, Nawaraj mother Jhulu Thapa has drawn the attention of the Government on the incident and appealed to intervene into the matter immediately.
All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) has also condemned the murder and urged the state Government to intervene without delay in bringing justice to the victim and his family.
LB Adhikari, general secretary AMGSU fervently appealed to the State Government and department concerned to talk to their UP counterparts and pressurize them to investigate the matter and added that it was not an accident or suicide case as reported by railway police but was clearly a murder case.
Ther students' body also shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family members.
