Ukhrul, October 18 2016:
Naga Peoples' Front ( NPF), Ukhrul division has demanded that the proposed visit of Chief Minister O Ibobi and his council of Ministers to Ukhrul for inaugurating the 100 bedded district hospital on October 24 be deferred.
Briefing newsmen today, NPF president of Ukhrul division Wungnaoshang said that six NPF leaders inspected the 100 bedded hospital and found the hospital in a pitiful condition.
The basic infrastructure is yet to be installed to make the hospital operational or functional and provide basic health care to the people, he said.
The Congress Government is merely trying to hoodwink the people by inaugurating a hospital which is bereft of all infrastructure, he alleged and added that the hospital is only in name.
Trying to gain political mileage by inaugurating a hospital which has not been fitted with the basic infrastructure is nothing but trying to befool the public, said the NPF leader.
Referring to the PMGSY road from Lambui to Nungshithabi under Kasom block, Wungnaoshang said that although the construction work of the said road stretch started back in 2014 the road has been left at the stage of shingling.
The NPF leaders urged the department concerned to look into the matter at the earliest or else a series of demonstration will be launched.
They also expressed dismay over the erratic power supply at Ukhrul and completely cutting off power supply to the border villages.
