11th Manipur State League Contrasting wins for NEROCA FC, TRAU

NEROCA FC, Sangakpham extended their unbeaten run as they crushed USA, Khurai 4-1 today in the ongoing 11th Manipur State League encounter while TRAU squeezed out a thrilling 3-2 win over SSU.
The match between NEROCA FC and USA started at a frantic pace although the Sangakpham outfits dominated possession.
NEROCA FC were able to break the deadlock in the 30th minute when Ch Anandkumar unleashed a volley that convincingly beat USA custodian.
NEROCA FC went into break with their 1-0 lead intact.

After the break, it became 2-0 in the 67th minute when NEROCA FC's Nigerian striker Chenude Emmanuel fired a shot, which went beyond the reach of the goalkeeper, off a free kick from halfway mark.
Kh Jackie of USA pulled one back in the 81st minute as his attempt to the ball that slipped from NEROCA custodian Arup Debnath off a powerful shot from Thangminlun found the target.
Not long after, Ksh Malemnganba added one goal to the account of NEROCA FC in the 83rd minute.
The fate of the match was sealed when Chenude Emmanuel scored his second to complete the rout.
In another encounter, TRAU, Kwakeithel registered a 3-2 win against SSU, Singjamei to keep the semifinal hopes alive.
The match began on an interesting note as both sides stepped into the game with attacking intentions.
It was TRAU that scored first through E Dayanand in the 5th minute.
Amos Nathaniel doubled the lead as he converted a penalty in the 10th minute.
The penalty was awarded against SSU as their defender L David committed a foul against TRAU's L Sanatomba in the box.
The lead was short-lived as L Bharat of SSU netted twice in the 25th and 32nd minute to bring parity.
The first half ended in a 2-2 draw. Amos Nathaniel was at it again in the second half (55th minute) to eventually earn full points to the team.
