SFs round up 7 UGs in a day

Altogether, seven different militant activists have been rounded up from several places around the State by security forces.
A combined team of Imphal East and Imphal West districts police commandos under the supervision of DySP (Cdo) Imphal West, Dr S Ibomcha, arrested three KYKL activists yesterday.
According to a statement of the Imphal West SP, two KYKL cadres identified as Thounaojam Jiten (32) son of Th Nilamani of Lilong Chajing Mairenthong and Khaidem Naocha (30) son of Kh Gopal of Chajing Mairenkhong were arrested from near LMS Law College, Chingmeirong yesterday around 3.30pm.On follow up action, another active member of KYKL identified as Khaidem Rajen (59) son of (L) Kh Anganghal of Chajing Mairenkhong was arrested from his residence at around 4.15 the same day, it claimed.
Two 9mm pistols with two magazines, eight live rounds of 9mm ammunition and fourteen live rounds of AK-47 ammunition were seized at the instance of Rajen from the banana tree grove in his campus, it added.
Meanwhile, troops of 9 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector reportedly rounded up four KNLF cadres during a search operation conducted on February 16 at Ward No 2, Dalpatti of Moreh town.
A PRO IGAR (S) release identified the arrested persons as Moreh W/N 2 residents Jahudaa (19) son of Lala, Thangnom Lian (46) son of Hang Dothen and Khencensang Lian (19) son of Thanghom Lian, and Kamminlien Kipgen (24) son of Laithang Kipgen of W/N 7 S Moljol village, Moreh.
It is informed that along with one US-made .38 revolver with four live rounds, one Chinese made .22 pistol with five live rounds, two IEDs each weighing half kilogram with electric detonator and wire recovered from them all four have been handed over to Imphal West police station.
