CM meets Javadekar on MU crisis

Imphal, July 15 2018:
Chief Minister N Biren held a meeting with Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar at New Delhi on the protracted Manipur University crisis today.
The meeting was held between them at 11 am at the Union HRD Minister's residence.
N Biren asked Prakash Javadekar to review the fact finding committee set up by the HRD Minister to probe the charges levelled against Vice Chancellor Prof AP Pandey as well as its members.
The State Government is likely to ask the HRD Ministry to induct a local academician (former VC) in the fact finding committee.
While urging Prakash Javadekar to initiate necessary measures for resolving the MU crisis at the earliest, the Chief Minister expressed keen desire for the Central Government to give due emphasis to the sentiments of the people of Manipur.
It is reported that Prakash Javadekar and N Biren would hold another meeting at 9.30 am tomorrow together with BJP Ministers and MLAs who are accompanying the Chief Minister.
The fact finding committee led by UGC Joint Secretary JK Triparthi was set up on July 12 .
