Liangmei book released

A book titled Kaguangbo Mania Khaitdi Pameng Khuang (Ancient objects and pictures) written in Liangmei dialect by Th Tunchapbou, Ex President of Liangmei Naga Council was released at a simple function held at MLA Z Kikhonbou Niumai's Quarters at Lamphel today.
During the occasion, writer of the book Tunchapbou said, the book released today which is the eighth book written by him is based on the history, culture, tradition etc of the Liangmei community.
Speaking as chief guest at the function, MLA and Vice Chairman of Hill Area Committee, Z Kikhonbou Niumai asserted that publication of such book is a rare of its kind for the Liangmei community.
Its population is about 80,000 living in 71 villages at various part of Manipur.
Liangmei dialect has been included in the Scheduled Languages of the State, the MLA observed and said, "As there is no inclusion of book release in the State budget, many books could not be published.
The matter will be taken up in the 4th Finance Commission." Niumai urged to publish many books and make effort together for the progress of the community.
