Workshop on "Understanding and exploring entrepreneurship" held

Daiho Foundation for Educational and Social Development (DFESD) in association with Avant Garde Academy on Wednesday organised a two days long workshop on "Understanding and exploring entrepreneurship" at Avant Garde Academy, Taphou, Senapati.
In the first session of the workshop, Shylock S Taishya, proprietor IMS Senapati delivered a lecture on "Scope and challenges of entrepreneurship".
"Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won't, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can't", said Taishya while highlighting the four types of entrepreneurship namely small business, scalable startup, large company and social entrepreneurship.
On the scope of entrepreneurs, he stated that small-scale business provides good scope for the growth of entrepreneurial activities and good opportunity in selling service rather than manufacturing products.
On challenges of entrepreneurship, he mentioned that one must be ready to face financial, strategic, technology, market and reputational risks.
He then elaborated on various challenges including credits by customers, lack of infrastructure, lack of support, lack of discipline and casual approach by the workers.
In the second session, Associate Professor, University of Delhi, Dr D Chao spoke on "Personality, characteristics of successful entrepreneurs".
In the third session, Chief Manager SBI Senapati, Besi Sol Chalai spoke on "Banking services for entrepreneurs" .
Earlier, president DFESD, D Dovei Albert also spoke on the occasion.
Dr Chao, A Kaini and Rashane Joicy led the first, second and third session respectively.
