Imphal, November 05 2014:
Hostel cooks of College of Agriculture of Central Agriculture University, Iroisemba are set to launch a cease work stir demanding service regularisation.
A cook on the condition of anonymity told The Sangai Express that 16 cooks including three women have been serving the varsity since the past 18-19 years.
However, Dean and the university authority have not initiated any step to regularise their service with the exception of asking them to be patient, he said.
Saying that there is no holiday or break in their service, the cook said that the university authority gives wage for only 30 days for the months which have 31 days as well.
The university authority also does not fix the wage of the cooks according to the guidelines of the Central Government, he said and added that it is unfortunate that the cooks have to languish in a state.
Saying that they are ready to launch a ceasework stir if the university authority does not take up any steps to regularise their service at the earliest, he said that they would also strongly object any move to engage new cooks in case they go on their proposed stir.
