Kanggui, September 24 2013:
Ultrasound facility, which had been the long pending desire of the general public of Kangpokpi (Kanggui) is now available at Kanggui Christian Hospital commonly known as Mission Hospital located at Kanggui Ward No.10, about 5 Kms from Kanggui bazar.
Source from the hospital confirmed functioning of the machine which had been installed earlier but could not function due to non-availability of expert doctor and experienced technician.
"After many hurdles and delays Kanggui Christian Hospital could now start providing Ultrasonography facilities," said the hospital Medical Superintendent Dr MS Hatzaw.
He also said that all these years patients coming to the hospital requiring Ultrasonography were referred either to Senapati or Imphal, which are about 25 Kms and 45 Kms respectively from here thereby entailing extra travel-related expenses in addition to inconveniences for the patients.
Dr Hatzaw continued that installation and functioning of Ultrasonography will provide great benefits particularly to the local community and it will significantly improve the patients' experience as they can now visit the hospital every Monday, Friday and Saturday to avail wide range of diagnosis facilities.
In the meantime, the hospital Chaplain Lhoukholal Kipgen, exclaiming "he, Lord made it possible", while speaking the formal opening of the Ultrasonography facility said it is a blessing for the needy patients who come for diagnosis and treatment.
The Chaplain also appealed to everyone to pray for the proper and effective functioning as well as durability of the USG machine and also for the hospital that it may continue serve the poor, the needy and to be a channel of physical and spiritual wellness to all community.
