According to Indian Bird Conservation Network Manipur Chapter Coordinator RK Birjit, immediate steps need to be taken up to ensure protection for the endangered bird species which comes to Manipur from China during the winter season.
The bird prefers to flock in areas with Luwang Tou, Tourel and Khoimom plants, which usually grow near rivers with clear waters, Birjit explained.
He further opined that people need to ensure the areas near such rivers are not polluted so as to ensure a proper ecosystem for the said birds.
