BWWA felicitates frontline health workers

The BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) on Thursday hosted a solemn function to felicitate the medical staff of Churachandpur who have been at the forefront in fighting Covid-19 pandemic and offered selfless services to the STC BSF Churachandpur when the border forces' cantonment was overwhelmed by the disease during the first wave.
The BWWA team from STC BSF donated various sanitary items, gift packs for nurses serving in Covid ward and gift items for doctors of District Hospital, Churachandpur as well as to Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Churachandpur.
BWWA president Neelam Singh w/o Raja Babu Singh, IPS, IG, STC BSF Churachandpur handed over the items to Dr Vanlalkungi, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, and CMO Churachandpur.
Speaking on the occasion, Raja Babu Singh said that the gift items were provided to convey their gratitude to the medical community of Churachandpur district for their hard work and dedication in their duty, particularly in helping and treating the BSF personnel during the first wave of Covid pandemic late last year.
He said that the hospital staff have always been supportive to the BSF patients being referred to the district hospital while urging the medical staff to assist them whenever required.
The IG also saluted and exhorted the nurses and other staff presently working in Covid ward of the district hospital.
The event was attended by MKT Simte, Second-in-command, STC BSF and T Douminlian Asst Commandant.
The BWWA also provided 60 Parker pen (special edition), 10 Dustbin, 10 Plastic doormat, 40 bottle Hand sanitizer (500 ml), 50 bottle Phenyle, 10 Wiper (cloth), 25 kgs Bleaching powder, 10 bottles hand wash, 150 surgical glove, 100 face masks, 6 Thermo Flasks, and 4 hand towels.
A total of 33 gift packages containing goods worth Rs 2000 each were also handed over to the medical fraternity.
