Farmers' training programme held at Thingba Khullen

Imphal, January 18 2013:
One day Farmer's training programme on INM/IPM Rabi crops was held today at Thingba Khullen Purul block in Senapati district under Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Senapati, Manipur.
The Project Director, ATMA interacted with the villagers and emphasized the need of varietal replacement of Paddy in the area to boost the production of paddy with the High yielding varieties and Hybrid varieties having higher yield potential available in the state.
These new varieties can be introduced under the cluster Demonstration of paddy under the National Food Security Mission on Paddy.
Under the scheme assistance for purchase of inputs like seeds, fertilizers and Bio pesticides will be provided.
Subsidy on purchase of Agriculture Equipment is also available.
Farmers can avail the facilities, according to a press statement.
N Dhiren Singh, Retd Joint Director CADA; K Ibohal and Kh Nimaichand from the Directorate of Agriculture and Dr PM Souva; Pamreishang Ningshen, Loshii Mao and Sani Khrasi ATMA Senapati District participate in the programme as the resource persons.
Worshang Hungyo IAS, Assistant Commissioner Senapati attended the training program as the chief Guest.
Welcoming such training program held in the village, he called upon all the farmers to actively participate in the discussion and take the rare opportunity of meeting the Subject Matter Specialists and obtain the answers of the various question for the problems they come across in their fields.
L Makho, Speaker of Thingba Khullen expressed gratitude to Project Director ATMA Senapati; M Gojendra Singh for conducting the programme in the village and also for providing valuable information and distributing certified seeds of rapeseed, maize and pea to the participants, it stated.
