Lamka, January 18 2013:
Against the backdrop of five constituent bodies of CDSU questioning the existence of their former parent body, the existing union executive today clarified that CDSU was not abolished but some members have voluntarily withdrawn themselves from it.
Let it be known that CDSU belongs to all tribe based students' organization in Churachandpur.
It does not belong to any particular community or tribe.
It is an organization where it can admit new members or expel existing members.
No one can set a limit to CDSU membership.
Hence there is no question of majority or minority in representation to CDSU, said the union in a statement issued by Punkhanlian, I&P Secretary.
On the contention of the constituent bodies that have withdrawn their membership, the union clarified that the union was not abolished or dissolved before the withdrawing members have made their withdrawal so there is no question of minority or majority.
'It goes without saying that after withdrawing from the union, the 5 former constituent members shall logically and legally have no say and authority over the union,' it added.
Appealing on the district masses to exercise their reason instead emotion to protect the unity and integrity of the district, the existing executives articulated that, 'a divided house never stand and prosper.
We all want our district to prosper.
So, let us all work together for the prosperity of our district' .
