'The Boundaries of Manipur' : Book released

All the people of the State must know the boundaries of the State, said noted scholar Gangmumei Kamei.
He was speaking at the releasing ceremony of a book 'The Boundaries of Manipur' written by Dr L Chandramani today at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound.
Prof Gangmumei Kamei said that people of the State should know upto which places the State boundaries extended then and now.
It should not only be left to politicians, research scholars and academicians, but all the people of the State must know the State boundaries, Prof Kamei said.
The book releasing ceremony was graced by A Birchandra, managing trust of Lamyanba Publication as the president while Dr M Kaoba Singh reviewed the book.
The writer of the book, Dr L Chandramani said that the boundaries of Manipur shrank day by day since the State was merged into the Indian Union.
Places like Namphalong, Premnar, Molcham etc, which were within Manipur when the State was merged into Indian Union in 1949, are no longer within the boundary of Manipur, Dr Chandramani said.
The writer also vividly recalled the formation of Pan Manipur Youth League at Guwahati University with the assertion that Kabow Valley should belong to Manipur.
