KWO kicks start golden jubilee celebration

"It is a great landmark that the Kabui Women's Organisation has reached 50 years of its existence.
The organisation will be having its own goal and accordingly it should function to achieve the goal.
Women of the state have been playing a vital role in developing the society; it is their contribution which will measure changes in the society.
The time has come to give more awareness to them in order to bring more development and changes in the state ", said Gaikhangam, Home Minister of the state.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the two day function of the Kabui Women Organisation's Golden Jubilee Celebration held at Namthalong Village, Thangmeiband here today.
The celebration was also attended by Kh.
Joykishan, MLA of Thangmeiband A/C as the guest of honour while Gonglin Faumei, Commandant of Manipur Rifles; Alulao Kamson, President of Thangmeiband Kabui Women's Organisation and its founder L.Pousong were presented as the presidium members.
Recalling the contribution made by the Kabui people in the state, Gaikhangam said the community has been extending its hands and co-operation on many issues since time immemorial and in safeguarding the territorial integrity of the state and added that the community should play a major role to bring peace and unity in the state.
While giving speech as the guest of honour, MLA Kh.
Joykishan informed that the work for construction of the Namthalong Community Hall at Namthalong village is going in full swing and exuded confidence that the hall would be finished before the Gaan-Ngai festival.
