Sainik School celebrates

Sainik School Imphal celebrated its 41st Raising Day with great zeal and enthusiasm today.
According to a PIB (DW) statement, Deputy GOC HQ 57 Mtn Div, Leimakhong Brigadier KB Chand graced the celebration as the chief guest.
The celebration started with wreath laying and floral tributes to the martyrs followed by various games and activities conducted for general employees in recognition of their invaluable contribution to the school.
The special feature of the programme was presentation of slide show of rare photographs taken since inception of the school in 1971 .
Mrs Basanti Bhat, the First Lady of the school gave away prizes to the lady winners in games while the chief guest gave away prizes to the general employees.
In his address, the Officiating Principal, Lieutenant Commander Gurbir Singh mentioned various outstanding achievements of the school in the field of academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
For these achievements he complimented the cadets and staff and thanked the parents and the State Govt for their wholehearted support.
Brigadier KB Chand in his address to the cadets, staff, alumni and parents complimented the school for excelling in every spheres of training.
He lauded the role of the former and the present staff in bringing the school to this position and wished the school very best for all round development in future besides urging the staff and cadets to continue the good work.
The celebrations culminated with "Shumang Leela", a traditional form of Manipuri drama, the release added.
