Sangai Festival to be grander this time

The Manipur Sangai Festival, which is being celebrated every year by the Tourism Department, is all set to be more vibrant this time along with inviting a number of participants from across the globe.
According to sources in State Tourism Department, the Manipur Sangai Festival, 2012 is scheduled to be held from November 21 to 30 at Hatta Kangjeibung, Palace Compound and the Tourism Department would be leaving no stone unturned towards attracting more participants this time and make it a
grand success.
The sources revealed that various individuals and firms from across the globe would be taking part in the festival this time.
The participating countries would include Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Nepal, Korea, Singapore and Nigeria.
Participants from these countries would display various electronic, handicrafts and other products including edible items from their respective countries.
It has also been reported that all arrangements have been made for making the event an ever grandest one.
All the outdoor hoardings, roadside banners and kiosks have been arranged.
Publicity materials, Sangai mementos, souvenirs, video and photo coverage of the festival would also be finalized soon.
Participants will be charged Rs 5,000 for opening a standard stall and Rs 10,000 for premium and food stalls, the sources added.
It may be noted here that Manipur Sangai Festival is becoming more popular each year with number of participants from foreign countries increasing.
