COVID-19 awareness programme held; Ayush medicines distributed

A one day COVID-19 awareness programme was held today at Samurou Primary Health Centre organised jointly by United Committee Manipur (UCM) and Samurou COVID-19 Task Force.
A press release by UCM stated that a team of UCM led by its president attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, president of UCM appealed all to strictly follow the Covid SOPs laid by the competent authorities to stay protected from COVID-19 since one moment of recklessness will lead to a surge in COVID-19 positive cases.
He also called for concerted efforts to tackle the dreaded pandemic effectively in the State.
He further opined that the reason for the decrease in Covid positive cases over the past few days should be traced whether is it due to the downward trend of mass Covid vaccination drive or due to high rate of vaccination.
Stressing on the need to carry on the usual routine even during this trying times of the pandemic, he urged all to adhere to Covid SOPs and protocol while carrying out one's normal duties.
Regarding the education system, it is high time that the Government should take up special policies to educate the students since online classes will not be feasible in the long run, he added.
He also appealed the Government to follow the foot steps of other States and countries which have tackled the COVID-19 pandemic effectively and to take advice from experts concerned while drafting any new policies in connection with COVID-19.Later UCM handed over face masks, face shields, Ayush medicines etc to Samurou COVID-19 Task Force to be distributed to the locals.
Also a team of Committee on COVID-19 Manipur led by its chairman W Second conducted mass awareness campaigns at various places to sensitize the street vendors about the various precautionary measures against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic today.
The mass awareness campaigns were carried out at Konung Mamang, Andro Parking, Keithel Asangbi, Tribal Market and from Uripok Cheirap Court till RIMS using loud speakers and urged the street vendors to maintain social distancing, to wear face masks and maintain Covid Appropriate behaviours to stay protected from COVID-19, said a press release by Committee on COVID-19 Manipur.
Also to keep the people healthy thereby strengthening their immunity, Ayush medicines viz Arsenicum Alb 30 and Ayush-64 tablets provided by the Ayush Directorate were handed over to various Covid Task forces namely Hiyangthang Tarahei Covid Task Force, Ningombam Maning Leikai Meira Paibee, Wabagai High School Isolation Centre, Langmeidong Higher Secondary School Isolation Centre, Lamjao Apunha Covid Task Force, Umathel JNV Home Isolation Centre and Pangaltabi Chingjin Covid Task Force.
