TA & Hills Minister inaugurates 7th PNNM general conference

TA & Hills Minister Vungzagin Valte on Sunday inaugurated the 7th General Conference of Poumai Naga Women's Union (PNNM) at Senapati in the presence of L Dikho, PHE Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, P Delilah Pao, president PNNM stressed on the need to redeem the culture and identity of the land.
"Culture being the total process of human activity, needs to be examined and redeemed in this modern age.
A right relationship has to be created in the face of extreme modernization for people to value", she asserted.
While pointing out the roles played by women in promoting and preserving culture, P Delilah Pao said, "women are the main carrier of one's culture and identity" .

L Dikho lauded the women's union for their unity and stated that Poumai women have advanced in many fields including medical, engineering, etc.
The Minister urged the gathering to encourage each other and grow together through such events.
While lauding the women union for organising the grand event Vungzagin Valte announced that an Eklavya Model Residential School would be set up in Oinam Hill village under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The Minister also mentioned that about 1,04,000 students have been provided free education by the Ministry so far.
