1st IW District Polo Tournament resumes

Imphal, December 12 2021:
Imphal Riding Club and MPSC-C emerged victorious as the 1st Imphal West District Polo Tournament, which was put on hold after kick off on April 18 due to Covid pandemic, resumed today at Awang Potsangbam Khullen ground.
The first match which marked the resumption of the 13 team tournament, saw Imphal Riding Club trouncing Laman Polo Club 9-0 thanks to L Abhinash Singh who clobbered 6 goals alone.
S Dollar Singh found the opener 1.2 minutes into the first chukker before Abhinash scored his first to settle the chukker 2-0.Abhinash then scored twice in the second chukker and Dollar completed his double to help Imphal Riding Club enter the halfway break with a 5-0 lead as Laman Polo Club riders looked out of contention.
Abhinash hammered home his remaining three goals in the third chukker before L Alex Singh scored the final goal in the final chukker.
In another lopsided encounter, MPSC-C rode on four goals by M Jawan Singh to beat K&MMRS 12-4 .
Kh Dinesh (2), T Khaba (2), S Arun (2), S Viking (1) and S Abungcha (1) also registered their names on the scoresheet for the winning team.
W Kedanath scored twice for K&MMRS after the team drew blank till halfway while Kh Jotin and Th Bobby scored a goal apiece.
SAN Polo Club will play KRYPHSA in the next match tomorrow from 1.30 pm before Hundreds Able Riders take on Laman Polo Club-B later from 2.30 pm .
