Hearing of the Unlawful Activities Prevention (UAP) tribunal was held on March 8 and 9.Recording of evidence by way of affidavits in respect of the States of Manipur and Nagaland has been concluded at Pine Wood Hotel, Shillong.
The affidavit given by Home Department, Manipur as well as by four IOs have vehemently pressed the tribunal for confirming the decla- ration of NSCN-K as unlawful association by the Central Govt.The affidavit on behalf of Nagaland filed by the IG Crime showed the incidents involving NSCN-K cadres and the Nagaland Govt's support for the ban.
The final hearing or adjudication on whether to con- firm the ban issued by the Central Govt will be held on March 14 at Delhi High Court.
The State Government was represented by Sapam Biswa-jit Meitei, Advocate and Standing Counsel, Manipur before the Supreme Court of India during the proceedings of the tribunal.
