Imphal, March 12 2016 :
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has reportedly given approval to relieve Dy CM Gaikhangam who is also in-charge of Home from holding the post of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president as per the party's 'one man one post' principle.
At the same time, dissident Congress MLAs who were camping at New Delhi for some days arrived here today after meeting AICC Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Vice- Chairperson Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking to a handful of reporters today, one of the dissident Congress MLAs who met Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi at New Delhi said that the AICC leadership had assured to effect reshuffle in MPCC.
As such, a reshuffle in MPCC would take place soon.
Sonia Gandhi also reportedly accepted the allegation that Congress candidates who contested the by-election in Thongju AC and Thangmei-band AC last year suffered defeat as Dy CM Gaikhangam failed to clarify the accusation made by BJP candidates that he had appended his signature in favour of Naga integration, the MLA said.

The MLAs had also conveyed to the AICC president that they still have faith in the leadership of O Ibobi and that they would fight the coming Assembly election under his leadership.
They further conveyed their aspiration to make O Ibobi the CM for the fourth consecutive term.
On the complaint that the demand for reshuffle of the Council of Ministers raised two years back went unheeded, the AICC president reportedly told the AICC general secretary to submit the list of incompetent Ministers who lack transparency by Monday.
The dissident MLAs also highlighted to the AICC president about the manipulation of vacant political posts/chairmen in various departments by the incumbent Ministers.
Sonia Gandhi reportedly assured the MLAs to right the wrongs at the earliest.
