Informing that expired Coca Cola soft drink bottles are sold in the State after changing the manufacturing dates, AMSU has threatened to ban Coca Cola brand of soft drinks in the State in case the unethical practice of altering manufacturing dates is not checked by September 15 .
Speaking to media persons at their DM College campus office today, AMSU secretary general Manjit Sarangthem said that on August 29, BSR Enterprise, MG Avenue was found selling expired Coca Cola bottles after changing the manufacturing dates.
Alleging that one Bikram living in a rented house near Sky Hospital was involved in changing manufacturing dates, Manjit said that BK Enterprise, SB Enterprise and Sunil should come out with a clarification about the matter by September 15 .
They should apologise to the public and pledge not to indulge in such unethical practice ever again.
Some Coca Cola bottles with expiry dates 08-06-2016 were sold to public after changing the date to 08-08-2016, Manjit said.
He then appealed to all the people to check expiry/manufacturing dates while buying Coca Cola bottles.
He further urged the authorities concerned to look into such unethical practices and pull up all wrongdoers.
