Tongbram (O) Pishakmacha, mother of late Tongbram Suresh alias Malangba has categorically stated that they never turned over the care of their son to Residential Kids Care School, Langol Games Village.
Reacting to a statement issued by the school to some section of media, Pishakmacha told media persons at Manipur Press Club here today that they never turned over the care of their son to the school authority.
Even though the school fees could not be paid in time due to abject poverty, the due fees were paid in full later.
"When we went to the school with some local Meira Paibis on August 12 to take our son back, the school did not allow us to take back Suresh alias Malangba", she said.
Heisnam Chandrakumar, convenor of the JAC constituted in connection with the controversial death of Suresh, said that the deadline set by the JAC for the authorities concerned to take up befitting actions against the school's founder, the warden and the school expired today.
Meanwhile, the school authority's statement of clarification has only multiplied people's anguish.
The JAC would soon launch a non-cooperation movement against the Government which would be followed by more intense forms of agitation.
Notably, the school authority brought Suresh to his home at Toupokpi Khunou Ward No 2, Bishnupur district in the night of August 26 in critical condition and he expired the next day.
The JAC has been contending that Suresh died due to the school authority's utter negligence.
