All party meet studies MHA's 'inaction'

A meeting of all political parties was held today and deliberated on the inaction of the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding its assurance given to an all-party delegation of Manipur to book NSCN-IM's Livingstone in connection with molesting a film actress at Chandel.
The all-party meeting held in the office of JD(U) was attended by representatives of BJP, MSCP, MPP, Shiva Sena, Trinamool Congress, BSP and CPI.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, CPI State Secretary Dr M Nara conveyed that the meeting decided to call on Chief Minister O Ibobi at the earliest and see if there is any development regarding the assurances of the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister to book Livingstone and check activities of NSCN-IM.
Another decision of the meeting was to urge the State Government to set up a fast track court to deal with crimes against women.
To urge the Government to strengthen and introduce three-tier system in Panchayati Raj in order to expedite rural development was the third resolution of the meeting.
Later, the convenor of the all party meeting was entrusted the task of arranging a meeting with the Chief Minister so as to highlight the resolutions adopted today, Dr Nara said.
