Settle Kuki issue first: KUMHUR

Imphal, February 11 2013:
Taking strong exception to the present political development between the Government of India and the United Naga Council, Kuki Movement for Human Rights (KUMHUR) has submitted a memorandum to Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde pressing for settlement of the isues related to killing of '900 innocent Indian Kukis', uprooting of '360 Indian Kuki villages' and displacement of '100,000 Indian Kukis' as a result of the quite notice served by UNC.
In the memorandum signed by its Chairman T Lunkim, KUMHUR said that the Kuki leaders have been observing closely the steps taken by Government of India toward the tribal people living in the North East India and reiterated its stance that Kuki people would never accept any political talks or settlement between Government of India and UNC before peaceful settlement of issues related to killing of 900 innocent Kukis, uprooting of 360 Kuki villages and displacement of 100,000 innocent Kukis by NSCN (I-M) as a result of the UNC's Quit Notice.
Lunkim pointed out that in this regard more than 60 memoranda have been already submitted to the four outgoing Prime Ministers of India as well as to the present Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh, with the last memorandum being the one submitted by Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) on January 15, 2013 .
